Job summary

The Children’s Museum of Manhattan is seeking a part-time Clean Team Attendant to ensure a safe and clean environment at 2 West 83rd Street, New York, NY 10024. You will regularly disinfect surfaces, clean restrooms, and manage trash and room setups throughout the day.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment safely, masking policy adherence, and providing courteous interactions with guests and staff.

Qualifications

• Weekend availability is required.
• Must multitask and have strong organizational skills.
• Prior maintenance experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, snow).

Responsibilities

• Disinfect and wipe down all surfaces daily.
• Mop, sweep, dust, vacuum and wipe five-floor facility.
• Disinfect and clean bathrooms, entrances, workspaces and staircases.
• Continually check all areas of museum for cleanliness.
• Communicate CMOM’s policies effectively and interact with staff and guests in a welcoming and courteous manner.
• Operate and maintain mechanized cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Create room set-ups as directed.
• Trash disposal in a sanitary manner.
• Monitor and report necessary facility repairs and replacement to proper departments.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clean Team is responsible for providing a safe environment for all guests and staff, with continuous cleaning and disinfecting in the museum building throughout the day, as well as package retrieval and trash removal.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Disinfect and wipe down all surfaces including walls, partitions, floors, windows, sills, staircases and handrails daily
• Mop, sweep, dust, vacuum and wipe down five-floor facility
• Disinfect and clean all bathrooms, entrances, exits, workspaces and staircases
• Continually check all areas of museum for cleanliness
• Communicate CMOM’s policies effectively and interact with staff and guests in a welcoming and courteous manner.

COMPENSATION

$20.50/hour
