Job summary

Pittsburgh Public Schools is seeking tutors for the 2026-27 year to support students across multiage settings. Tutors will work with students and classroom teachers to reinforce reading, writing and math skills in a collaborative environment.

Position is 10 months, focusing on in-class assistance, lesson support, and progress monitoring. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and strong communication and computer skills. Residency within Pittsburgh district is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in tutoring or teaching is a plus.
• Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Work with students and classroom teacher in multiage/multigrade classroom setting.
• Assist classroom teacher with day to day classroom functions.
• Assist students with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Coordinate instructional strategies with teachers.
• Assist in planning, preparing and developing various lessons as directed.
• Assist with parental contact.
• Assist with individual goals setting and measurement.
• Responsible for lunch and recess duty.
• Other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor in support of the department's or school's goals and objectives and the District's mission and Superintendent's Priority Goals
