Job summary

Unalaska City School District seeks a Classroom/School Support Staff substitute to assist teachers and maintain classroom routines.

You will follow lesson plans, supervise students, manage behavior, and ensure attendance and safety, while complying with district policies. A high school diploma or GED and a background check are required to begin. This position offers flexible coverage in school settings.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be a high school graduate or have completed GED.
• Applicants must complete an Interview, Background Check and Fingerprints.
• Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the School Administrative Secretary on arrival.
• Follows the teacher’s lesson plan for whom substituting per district policies.
• Maintains routines and procedures as directed by the regular teacher.
• Oversees and manages student behaviors in class, lunch, and recess.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures applicable to regular teachers.
• Operates and cares for classroom instructional equipment.
• Checks and records student attendance.
• Notifies the absent teacher or administrator of student issues.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Follows the Matanuska Susitna Borough School District policies.
