Job summary

Monroe Charter Academy seeks a qualified Instructional Assistant to support teachers in meeting student needs and delivering instruction. The role involves preparing materials, assisting with demonstrations, and guiding students in reading, writing, and math under teacher supervision.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of college coursework or higher acceptable.
• An associate's degree meets the requirement.
• Demonstrated ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with the classroom teacher to meet student needs.
• Prepare lesson materials, displays, equipment, and demonstrations.
• Present subject matter using lectures, discussions, and technology.
• Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and other areas.
• Conduct demonstrations to reinforce skills.
• Distribute teaching materials to students and technology tools.
• Abide by school policies governing students and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Perform other instructional and support duties as requested.

Education

Secondary school diploma or equivalent

Completed two years of college

Associate's degree
