Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Passing scores on the WorkKeys test or completion of 48 college credits.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Other requirements as outlined by the Board and the Administration.

Responsibilities

• Assists with supervision and monitoring of students in classrooms and other areas.
• Reinforces instruction, supports interventions, facilitates activities, and meets individual student needs.
• Administers, scores, and records tests as the teacher recommends for individual students.
• Operates and cares for classroom equipment used for instructional purposes.
• Helps students master equipment or materials assigned by the teacher.
• Distributes and collects workbooks, papers, and other materials.
• Assists in planning and conducting field trips.
• Assists in materials preparation and planning process.
• Attends parent-teacher conferences unless directed otherwise.
• Maintains classroom displays and supports group activities.
• Assists students in the library or media center as needed.
• Checks notebooks, corrects papers and supervises testing and makeup work.
• Checks and records attendance; alerts teacher to student information.
• Substitutes for short durations as needed; maintains ethical and confidential behavior.
• May serve in ISI Monitor or Lab Assistant roles; maintains safe learning environment.
• Supports mission, vision, and strategic plan; performs other duties as assigned.
