Central Office in Amory, Mississippi seeks an Assistant Teacher to support the classroom teacher by preparing instructional materials and monitoring students under supervision. Starting date is immediate, with a 187-day salary schedule through the School Board.

The role requires 2 years of college or an associate degree, or a demonstrated standard via ACT WorkKeys (Reading 4, Math 4, Writing 3). Team collaboration with teachers, administrators, and parents is essential.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education; or
• Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
• Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment (Mississippi ACT WorkKeys).
• Reading for Information passing score = 4; Applied Mathematics passing score = 4; Writing or Business Writing passing score = 3.

Responsabilités

• Substitute for the classroom teacher for short periods as needed under direction/plans.
• Perform clerical tasks related to instructional activities (grading, attendance, lunch counts, fees, filing).
• Monitor students under supervision of the teacher or administrator.
• Assist with bus, cafeteria, or hall duty.
• Assist in assembling and preparing instructional materials and maintaining a safe, clean classroom.
• Participate in staff development activities related to assignment.
