Job summary

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation in Columbus seeks an instructional aide to assist certified staff with students to meet instructional goals and to free teachers for non-instructional duties.

You will guide students, support small groups, assist with assessments, prepare materials, help with behavior management, and participate in the IEP process as needed. This is a short-term position with part-time hours and a starting hourly rate.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assist professional staff in administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Prepare materials and strategies to reinforce instructional materials according to student needs.
• Document student learning and performance; assist with behavior management and safety.
• Assist with non-instructional duties including lunch supervision, bus duty, playground duty, and study hall.
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision and support.
• Assist with parent contact to foster involvement in student education.
• Support students with special needs and participate in IEP process as needed.
