Qualifications

• General knowledge of classroom teaching practices, methods and techniques.
• Ability to maintain confidential files and information and to compile reports.
• Ability to interact effectively with students and teachers; use classroom/instructional equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructional schedule developed by personnel working with assistant.
• Reinforce skills taught by the classroom teacher to groups.
• Assist with instructional activities, read to students, provide library assistance, record information for younger students.
• Help students with assignments or academic problems.
• Escort students on field trips and assist with safety and classroom activities.
• Maintain bulletin boards and student records; monitor attendance and classroom supplies.
