Crittenton-Center in Moville, IA seeks a Classroom Educator to assist in our early childhood program. You will support teachers, engage children, and help families with daily activities in a busy classroom.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, background checks, CPR/First Aid, and a valid driver’s license. The position generally runs Monday through Friday with day and evening hours on-site.

  • Keep attendance records and clock in/out.
  • Engage children daily to build relationships and supervise check-in/check-out.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary/ObjectiveUnder the supervision of the Director of Child Development Centers, the Classroom Educator will perform daily desk functions, assist in the classroom and with parents and families.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Classroom TeacherFollows Adult and Child Food Program guidelines and accreditation standards.Enters data for the on-line Gold Assessment for classrooms.Keeps attendance for classroom and clocks children in and out.Assists in the classrooms, as needed.Engages the children on a daily basis in order to build relationships and facilitate the check in and out procedures.Facilitate relationship building with children, teachers and family.Other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an early childhood learning environment. The role routinely comes into contact with clients who may have a variety of illness and varying degrees of hygiene. The job also includes frequent exposure to outside weather conditions. This role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. A fingerprint background check is also required for all Child Development Programs.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationA valid driver’s license and a driving record sufficient to qualify for agency automobile coverage.Maintain current CPR and First Aid Certifications.
