Temporary Classroom Assistant$22.30 per hourSchedule: Monday through Thursday, 10:30 to 4:00 (5 hours per day/20 hours per week); with occasional FridaysSchool year based breaks and holidays offThere is a strong likelihood that this temporary position will be extended, pending program assessment.Encompass is hiring a Temporary Classroom Assistant at the Encompass Early Learning Center in North Bend, Washington!Fulfill your passion for working with children with diverse needs.Work with a team of creative educators, alongside speech, occupational, and behavioral therapists who collaborate to support every child.Be a part of an early learning program that supports over 100 children in Snoqualmie Valley every year to be fully prepared for kindergarten and beyond.SCOPE: In this role, you will assist teachers by providing classroom support in the Early Learning Center program environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist staff with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy.Manage children’s activities and projects as needed.Maintain open communication with coworkers.Maintain confidentiality.Report any suspected abuse to supervisor.Help maintain a safe and healthy environment; administer first aid in a timely manner when needed.Attend inservice and staff meetings when necessary.Keep all appropriate records such as attendance and time sheets.Meet all applicable licensing regulations.QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)High school diploma or GEDOne year work or volunteer work in a food service operationExperience working with young childrenAbility to adhere to safety practices and procedures as required by state and federal lawsAbility to perform the tasks and functions as required by the job including implementing age appropriate programs and activities and provide positive reinforcement to childrenAbility to work and communicate with a diverse group of peopleCERTIFICATION AND LICENSESPrior to First Day of Employment:TB screening and MMR DocumentationDepartment of Child, Youth, and Family Services Portable Background CheckMERIT Registration and obtain a STARS ID.Food and Beverage Handler’s PermitRequired within 45 days of hire:First aid and CPR cardActive Supervision/Safe Arrival and DepartureChild Guidance and SupportMandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and NeglectStandards of ConductUniversal Precautions/Blood Borne PathogensPHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position will require extended standing or physical activity.
