Job summary

Tulsa Educare is seeking a dedicated Substitute Teacher to support daily operations across classrooms. You will help maintain rituals, routines and schedules, creating a safe, nurturing environment for infants through preschoolers.

Working as a classroom substitute, you will collaborate with staff and families, complete required documentation, and assist with maintaining high teaching standards in a dynamic, year‑round program in Tulsa, OK. Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications

• Must have high-school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in an accredited child care facility with children birth to five years of age.
• Driven to work collaboratively with a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
• Assist in the daily operations of all classrooms as a substitute teacher ensuring rituals, routines and schedules are followed.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with peers, families, volunteers and community partners to encourage collaboration, reflection, family engagement, and high quality teaching practices.
• Complete teacher’s responsibilities in the absence of classroom staff.
• Assist with required documentation including, but not limited to: monthly reports, attendance, meal count, family contact logs and child injury reports as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required to assist with maintaining high standards in the school.

• Work requires bending, stooping, lifting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, stretching, pushing and pulling throughout the day and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

Knowledge and Skills

• Broad knowledge and experience in: infant, toddler and preschool development
• Adapting to constant change (classrooms, teachers, daily schedules and routines) while being positive, supportive and helpful
• Following oral and written instructions with ability to read, interpret, and present information
• Accurately audit records and ensure compliance with written or oral guidelines
• Taking initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have high‑school diploma or GED
