Job summary

ENRICHMENT SERVICES PROGRAM INCORPORATED is seeking a Full Time Staff Assistant to support core classroom operations in Phenix City, AL. The role rotates among centers to allow teaching teams to take breaks while preserving appropriate staff-to-student ratios.

The incumbent will assist with meal-service setup, housekeeping duties, and general classroom support, communicating effectively with parents, children and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication with parents, children and staff.
• Ability to perform physical tasks as described.

Responsibilities

• Rotate between classrooms to provide breaks for staff.
• Support classroom staff to maintain required student-teacher ratio.
• Assist with meal service setup and clean up.
• Wash, dry and fold clothes and linens for classrooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: Incumbent provides support to primary classroom staff by rotating within the Center to allow teaching team members to take breaks while still maintaining the appropriate staff tostudent ratio.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

• Rotate between classrooms within the Center, providing breaks for primary classroom staff
• Provide support to classroom teaching staff to maintain required ratio, in the absence of a regular Substitute Teacher Assistant
• Assist teaching staffwith set up and clean up related to meal services
• Wash,dry and fold clothes and linens for classrooms
• Perform other duties assigned.

Essential Mental Functions:

Ability to communicate effectively with parents, children and staff.

Essential Physical Functions:

Incumbent is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Occasionally required to stand, climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to twenty five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
