DeLand Weldon Elementary is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Kindergarten Classroom Aide to support our youngest learners in a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, collaborates well with teachers and staff, and is committed to helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Provide one on one and small group support to students with disabilities as directed by the classroom teacher and special education team.
Assist students in participating in classroom instruction, routines, and activities
Implement accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies outlined in students' IEPs.
Support students with communication, social-emotional development, behavior regulation as appropriate.
Reinforce positive behavior interventions and classroom expectations using district-approved strategies.
Help students transition between activities, classrooms, and other school settings.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information in accordance with FERPA and district policies.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
Illinois Paraprofessional Educator License or eligibility to obtain one as required by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Salary is based on the DWEA 2023-2026 CBA
We are a small rural school with one classroom per grade level. Class size averages 12 students.
