Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators seeks a caring Kindergarten Classroom Aide to support our youngest learners in a safe, nurturing environment. You will work closely with teachers to reinforce routines and instructional activities, and help students participate in class.

Responsibilities include one-on-one and small-group support for students with disabilities, implementing IEP accommodations, and upholding FERPA confidentiality and district policies throughout the day.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Illinois Paraprofessional Educator License or eligibility required by ISBE.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students in participating in classroom instruction, routines, and activities.
  • Implement accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies outlined in students' IEPs.
  • Support students with communication, social-emotional development, behavior regulation as appropriate.
  • Reinforce positive behavior interventions and classroom expectations using district-approved strategies.
  • Help students transition between activities, classrooms, and other school settings.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information in accordance with FERPA and district policies.

Education

DeLand Weldon Elementary is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Kindergarten Classroom Aide to support our youngest learners in a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, collaborates well with teachers and staff, and is committed to helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
