Job summary

You will work with senior admins, ISSOs, and researchers to deploy, maintain, and secure IT infrastructure, including virtualization, AD, and policy enforcement. The role emphasizes reliability, security, and day-to-day operations in a tightly controlled environment.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu) and Windows.
• Ability to implement, deploy, and maintain secure, virtualized environments.
• Willingness to work Arlington, VA on-site.

Responsibilities

• Support senior admins, ISSO, management, researchers and others supporting the customers.
• Configure and maintain NAS Storage, Networking, Firewall, and Directory Services such as MS Active Directory management and Group Policy administration.
• Perform performance monitoring, results analysis and enhancement, as well as process automation using PowerShell scripting and other available technologies.
• Provide daily support, systems maintenance, problem resolution, tracing and project support.
• Create and maintain installation and configuration SOPs.
• Maintain current knowledge of DoD security and technical guidelines and the organization's policies.
• Provide support for production and development environments.
• After-hours support is required for maintenance and patching when needed.

Our Enterprise IT team ensures the performance and availability of the systems that support day-to-day operations, while our Classified IT team manages highly secure environments that protect sensitive government information. Working alongside them, our Cybersecurity team proactively defends our networks and systems against evolving threats. Together, these teams provide the technology foundation that enables STR’s engineers and researchers to develop innovative solutions for national defense.

The Role:

We are seeking a Systems Administrator with an active Secret or Top Secret clearanceto support our senior administrators in implementing, deploying, and maintaining Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems in traditional and virtualized environments across a variety of hardware solutions.

What you will Do:

• Professionally support senior administrators, Information System Security Officers (ISSO), management, researchers and others supporting the customers

Who you Are:

• This position requires an activeTop Secret/SCI with polygraph clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is needed by U.S. Government

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $105,000 to $125,000

The salary range listed is based on external market data. Offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills/critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
