Job Description

About the Job

Part‑time, day shift (9:00 am–2:30 pm) for August–May. Starts immediately. Salary $16.95 per hour. No nights or weekends.

High‑school diploma or equivalent required. Food service and customer service experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Food preparation, portioning and service to children and staff.
• Proper operation of commercial kitchen equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized tools and work area.
• Cashiering and maintaining accurate records of payments.
• Cleanup duties: washing pots, pans, dishes and utensils.
• Arrange tables and decorations.
• Compile and maintain records of food and beverage use and expenditures.
• Plan or assist with meeting special dietary or nutritional restrictions of students.
• Take inventory of supplies and equipment and notify cafeteria personnel of shortages.
• Train or assist in training of new employees.
• Adhere to all federal and state USDA regulations and local food codes.
• Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by Superintendent, Principal or other supervisors.

Schedule

Education & Certification

Physical Requirements

• Walking, standing and sprinting/running for short periods.
• Bending or twisting at the neck or trunk, squatting/kneeling, reaching above the head and forward.
• Repetitive hand, arm or finger motions (typing, data entry).
• Manual dexterity for cooking tasks and handling small utensils.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, with occasional requirement to lift heavier items.
• Manual handling of items weighing up to 90 pounds in short bursts, or carrying up to 90 pounds.

Job Requirements

• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
