• Utilize the Kentucky Offender Management System and enter information into inmate files.
• Field phone calls from family members, jails, and other outside agencies.
• Serve on classification and adjustment committees.
• Prepare various reports.
• Provide guidance and direction to assist inmates in identifying needs and goals in accordance with individual and institutional requirements.

Description

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctional facilities that house Kentucky’s adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

The Classification and Treatment Officers (CTOs) at Little Sandy Correctional Complex are responsible for the classification inmates eligible to stay in the county jails including ones that return from shock probation, Mandatory Reentry Supervision (MRS), and parole.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following

• Interview, assess, evaluate and counsel inmates to gather information for assessments.
• Project type and level of custody for controlled intake inmates.

• Recommend programming based on inmate’s needs.

Probationary Period
