Founded by Jonathan Hage in 1997, CSUSA’s mission is a relentless commitment to student greatness in school and in life™. With unwavering dedication to the success of students from every background, CSUSA is closing the gaps in achievement and opportunity, keeping our promise of strong minds, good hearts™.

Job Purpose

To join a team of people who are passionate about student greatness in school and in life™. If you love inspiring and motivating young learners and want to put students first in education, CSUSA is the right place for you. We deliver on our promise of strong minds, good hearts™ through an education model that gives every student the opportunity for success. As a Part‑time Classical Education Trainee, you will engage in structured preparation for future service as a Classical Faculty Scholar. You will complete pre‑service training that builds foundational knowledge of classical education, instructional practices, and school culture expectations. This training prepares you for possible transition into a faculty role in a CSUSA classical school, pending successful completion and hiring needs.

How You Will Impact Education

In this role, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the classical education model combined with the CSUSA Education Model and its application within CSUSA classrooms. You will strengthen your instructional craft through guided practice, feedback, and reflective activities while learning to apply pedagogical approaches such as Socratic dialogue, narration, explicit instruction, and close reading. You will contribute to classical school communities by participating in limited practicum activities, observing effective instruction, and assisting in building a culture that values truth, goodness, and beauty. Through ongoing reflection and collaboration with instructional leaders, you will grow in professional habits essential to becoming a successful classical educator.

Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or progress toward a degree in liberal arts, sciences, or a related field.

Job Requirements

These experiences will build essential competencies aligned to the classical education model and prepare the trainee for potential future classroom responsibilities. Completion of required assignments, participation in scheduled sessions, and demonstration of instructional competencies are mandatory. All compliance requirements—such as background checks, fingerprinting, and mandatory safety trainings—must be met prior to any student interaction. May perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
