KBACH (KBAQ) 89.5 FM is hiring a dynamic, full time on‑air host who is passionate about sharing classical music with the Phoenix metro area in a friendly, engaging manner. The successful candidate will have experience presenting classical music with a broad audience in mind.

KBACH is a listener‑supported public radio station broadcasting to the Phoenix metropolitan area. KBACH is the only radio station in Phoenix that plays classical music 24/7, reaching listeners around the world who stream KBACH online.

Essential functions

• 20% - Schedules classical music.
• 20% - Hosts and edits air shifts (including during fundraisers).
• 20% - Edits and produces automation elements, and edits and segues of classical breaks.
• 20% - Edits and digitizes a curation of classical library and on‑air data.
• 10% - Digital editing and producing content for the station’s audience services.
• 10% - Fundraises and represents the station at concerts and community events.

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or directly related field and two years of broadcast production experience.

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full‑time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired qualifications

• One year of full‑time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two years.
• Three years of experience hosting classical radio air shifts.
• Three years of experience producing content for air using digital editing software.
• Two years of experience scheduling classical music shifts using scheduling software (ex, Music Master).
• One year of experience representing a radio station at concerts and community events.
