Job Description

The University of Maryland School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, located in Baltimore, MD, are currently recruiting a full-time physician to join their faculty. The position is for a Classical Hematologist with strong interest and experience in translational and/or clinical research.

Essential Functions:
  1. Rounding on the University of Maryland Medical Center Hematology consultation service.
  2. Outpatient consultations and longitudinal care of patients with classical hematology diseases.
  3. Education and mentoring of Hematology/Medical Oncology fellows, residents, and medical students in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  4. Leading and participating in translational and/or clinical research.

Research Support:
Clinical and translational research is supported by the UMGCCC Shared Services in our Center for Innovative Biomedical Resources (CIBR) and the UMGCCC Clinical Research Office. Interaction with basic and translational scientists is strongly encouraged and supported.

Expected Faculty Rank:
Expected faculty rank for this position is Assistant Professor or higher; however, final rank, tenure status, and salary will be dependent on the selected candidate's qualifications.

Qualifications:
  1. M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree.
  2. Fellowship training and experience in Hematology.
  3. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-certified or board-eligible in Hematology.
  4. Eligible for a medical license in Maryland.
  5. Demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care, education, and research.
