Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Class B Vacuum Truck Route Driver in Huntsville, AL to manage a route and operate a Vacuum Truck to collect industrial waste from automotive and quick-lube customers. You will transport to disposal sites while maintaining strict safety standards.

The role includes visiting multiple sites daily, completing paperwork, and proactively generating leads for new services. A strong customer-service mindset and commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL is required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Bilingual use of mobile devices constitutes part of the job duties.
• Background check, drug test and physical are required by position.

Responsibilities

• Drive and manage a daily route, operate a Vacuum Truck to collect industrial waste.
• Visit 10-12 customer sites per day and perform on-site duties as needed.
• Complete scheduled services, deliveries and pickups on time; document all activity.
• Generate and collect leads for new products and services; upsell within accounts.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and comply with safety, local/state/federal regulations.

Safety-Kleen in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Class B Vacuum Truck Route Driver (Vacuum Sales and Service Representative) to manage a route and operate a Vacuum Truck to pick up industrial waste from customers such as automotive repair shops and quick oil change businesses and transport to disposal sites.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
• May visit 10-12 customer sites per day.
• Manual labor on sites to completely fulfill customer needs.
• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups in a timely manner.
• Complete all required documentation and labeling.
• Generate / collect leads from customers for new products and services.
• Sell additional products and services into existing accounts.
• Actively prospect for new accounts in assigned route.
• Primary account ownership in assigned route.
• Ensure customer satisfaction at time of service.
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements.
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Class B CDL.
• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days of employment.
• Use of various mobile devices.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position.
• Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial driver experience.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Previous Hazmat experience.
• Previous route driving experience.
• Operate a manual transmission.
• Business to business sales experience.
• Strong customer service background.
