The Public Works Department is responsible for administering all construction activities within county public rights‑of‑way and maintaining and improving the county’s infrastructure, including roadways, bridges, and drainage facilities.

Qualifications

Highway Worker I

• Six (6) months preferred experience in civil construction work
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have a valid driver’s license, Class B CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

Highway Worker II

• Two (2) years experience in civil construction work
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have a valid Class B CDL
