Job summary

POOLCORP is hiring Hazmat Drivers for local deliveries from our Indianapolis hub. You will make home nightly, follow DOT/FMCSR requirements, and ensure safe, accurate deliveries. The role requires a valid Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

  • Hazmat Driver role requires a valid Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
  • MVR and PSP indicating no more than 2 violations/accidents in 3 years.
  • Able to maneuver objects up to 100 pounds and work with DOT rules.
  • Excellent customer service and strong written/verbal communication.
  • Familiarity with PCs and handling equipment; Moffett/Skelly or Air Brake a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliveries to customers with safe, efficient routes and on-time performance.
  • Load and unload the vehicle; secure products and separate hazmat materials.
  • Collect payments and document deliveries accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with FMCSR and other regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report maintenance needs.
  • Keep vehicle clean and presentable; expand product knowledge over time.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What to Expect?

Hazmat Drivers make safe, complete, accurate and on-time deliveries to customers while complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) and other applicable regulations.

  • Make deliveries using the most effective route to ensure orders are delivered on time.
  • Load and unload the vehicle, ensuring that all products are properly secured, and hazardous material is separated appropriately.
  • Collect payments and accurately document delivery.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR)).
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and inform supervisor of any maintenance needed.
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and presentable on a daily basis.
  • Increase job and product knowledge on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
To drive for POOLCORP you need:
  • To be at least 21 years old.
  • A valid Class B commercial driver's license, with HAZMAT endorsement.
  • A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) indicating no more than 2 combined violations or at fault accidents in the past 3 years.
  • The ability to maneuver heavy objects that can weigh up to 100 pounds.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • To carry out instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with PCs and other material handling equipment (preferred).
  • Moffett, Skelly or Air Brake experience a plus!
