Job summary

Daniels Health is seeking a driven Class B driver with 26-foot box truck experience to service healthcare customers across the Des Moines area. You will collect sharps and medical waste containers, deliver with a focus on safety and excellent customer service, and maintain accurate logs.

Qualifications

• Valid DOT medical card is required.
• Delivery experience with a 26-foot box truck is preferred.
• Clean driving record with safe driving history.
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours and roadside inspections.
• Proven longevity in past employment and reliable attendance.
• On-time delivery practices are essential.

Responsibilities

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing medical waste containers at customer locations.
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships.
• Operating a 26 ft box truck and driving in a safe manner.
• Completing deliveries to schedule and communicating changes clearly.
• Loading and unloading and organizing the truck per schedule.
• Managing routes per leadership direction for timely service.
• Complying with DOT regulations and conducting pre- and post-trip checks.
• Heavy lifting may be required.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused CLASS B driver with professional box truck driving experience who can operate a box truck (26 feet) across the Des Moines, IA area. You will be collecting sharps and medical waste containers from our healthcare customer locations and delivering a high level of customer service daily.

What will your job involve?

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing our medical waste containers at customer locations
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
• Operating vehicles in a safe manner (as large as 26 ft box truck)
• Completing deliveries to time schedule, and clearly communicating changes or challenges as they arise
• Loading and unloading | Prioritizing and organizing your truck per schedule and needs
• Managing a route per leaderships direction | delivering timely, efficient and effective service
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Heavy lifting!

What are we looking for?

• Valid DOT medical card
• Delivery experience within a 26 foot box truck
• Driving within any industry where you have dealt with manual handling
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Clean driving record
• A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
• Proven longevity in past employment
• On time delivery practices
