Job summary

Safety-Kleen in Fargo, ND is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee (Driver Class B Trainee). This role will train to drive a Class B box truck to provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products/services in a defined route.

Safety-Kleen will pay for you to obtain your CDL. Work schedule is Monday–Friday with opportunities to grow within a national environmental services leader.

Qualifications

• Must have Class B CDL and Hazmat/Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain them within 90 days.
• Proficient in basic computer and math skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety in every task and follow all safety policies.
• Visit 10–12 customer sites per day.
• Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions and manage waste containers.
• Service parts washer machines and clean sediment from sinks.
• Upsell products/services at customer locations and generate new leads.
• Serve automotive repair fleets and manufacturing customers; complete daily deliveries and pickups.
• Adhere to DOT, state/provincial, and federal regulations; operate vehicles safely.
• Maintain environmental health and safety guidelines; perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner


• May visit 10-12 customer sites per day


• Switch out 15- & 30-gallon drums of solutions


• Service parts washer machines and clean out sediment from sinks


• Up-sell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field


• Service automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing type businesses


• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pick‑ups in a timely manner


• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules


• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements


• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines


• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Class B CDL


• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment


• Basic computer and math skills


• Good written and verbal communication skills


• Strong customer service skills


• Perform physical functions per job requirements


• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position


• Per OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.134, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

• Commercial route driving experience (Class C or Non-CDL)
