Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines is opening a Camp Hill service center in Fall/Winter 2026. We are actively reviewing applications for full-time Class B P&D Driver roles, offering local daytime work and a competitive pay package.

Starting pay is $28.00 per hour with overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours. Benefits include health, dental, vision, AD&D, 401(k) with company match, paid holidays, vacation and personal days, and modern, late-model equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 23 years old.
• At least 18 months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid Class B CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement.
• Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card.
• No DUI or Reckless Operations convictions in past 3 years.
• Less than 2 moving violations in past 3 years.
• Fluent in English.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Able to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post trip inspections on the tractor and trailer.
• Document all freight control processes.
• Read maps, road signs, shipping papers, hazmat markings and labeling identifications.
• Affix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle.
• Assist customers in preparation of shipping papers.
• Interact with external/internal customers.
• Safely operate a forklift to unload/load products when indicated.
• Participate in Dayton Freight's training and improvement programs.
• Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating shifts and/or assignments.
• Adhere to the Driver/Dockworker Manual procedures.

Responsibilities

Class B P&D Drivers are responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers and our customers.

• Perform pre and post trip inspections on the tractor and trailer that is being utilized
• Properly document all freight control processes
• Read and understand maps, road signs, shipping papers, hazardous materials markings and labeling identifications
• Affix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle
• Assist customers in preparation of shipping papers
• Interact and converse with external/internal customers
• Safely operate a forklift to unload/ load products when indicated and needed.
• Participate in Dayton Freight's training and improvement programs
• Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments
• Adhere to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle and perform physical tasks associated with driving, equipment inspections, and local pick-up and delivery operations.
