Reports to: Department Supervisor at specific Business Unit

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Schedule: 1st Shift / 8am-4pm Monday-Friday (Overtime as needed)

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

Perform all CDL/A Truck driving functions involved in the transportation of product to and from Modineer Company. CDL/A Truck driving responsibilities include, but is not limited to, the following: Operating a tractor with up to a 53’ trailer, operating a box truck, material handling, handling safety, upkeep, and cleanliness of the truck, and required documentation. Employees must f ollow standard work instructions and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Operating a tractor with up to a 53’ trailer to transport manufactured goods to and from both customers and vendors within a 150 - mile radius.
• Operating a Box Truck to transport manufactured goods on a planned route between Niles Plant Locations and Benton Harbor, MI.
• Position requires loading and unloading trucks and material handling duties when not driving.
• The driver is responsible for the safety, cleanliness and upkeep of the truck.
• The driver will also be responsible for assuring that the proper paperwork is filled out daily and reported in a timely manner.
• The driver is to always represent Modineer on the road and at our customers and vendors professionally.
• There is no overnight travel involved.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge :

• Position requires CDL/A license with a current medical card with verifiable experience.
• Must be able to pass a written and practical fork truck test.
• Must be able to perform all required Modineer production system documentation such and production reports, inspection reports, etc.
• Good Attendance (must have less than 5 chargeable absences).
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Physical environment/working conditions:

The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
