Position Schedule
Monday‑Friday 5:00 AM–3:30 PM and weekends as needed.
Class‑A Truck Driver Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land, to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Work with management to plan and meet delivery schedules.
- Document time spent driving and retain fuel receipts.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations.
- Handle packages from small envelopes to boxes ranging up to 80 pounds.
- Stand in one place for extended periods or walk frequently around the facility.
- Operate carts, dollies, hand trucks and other moving equipment to move large quantities of merchandise.
- Reach, kneel, lift, stand, walk, and bend as required.
- Enter refrigerated rooms with temperatures ranging between 0‑34 °F.
- Keep equipment clean (trailers, tractors, bobtail trucks).
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Class‑A California driver license.
- Proven work experience as a truck driver.
- Hands‑on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.).
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable driving rules and regulations.
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
- Experience within the food and beverage transportation industry preferred.
- Experience driving Class‑A vehicles.
- Warehouse experience preferred.
- Physical requirements: good hearing, 20/40 vision with glasses or corrective lenses, at least a 70‑degree field of vision in each eye; drivers cannot be color‑blind. Strong sense of spatial relations to park and navigate tight spaces.
- Communication skills: ability to read and speak English to understand road signs, prepare reports, and communicate with law enforcement officers and the public.
Compensation
Pay Range: $30.00–$33.00 /hour + benefits.
