Job summary

Atlanta Bonded Warehouse Corporation is seeking a Class A truck driver based in Acworth, GA to transport cargo from our warehouse to customers across Georgia.

The role involves long-distance driving up to 11 hours per day, possibly 14 hours, loading/unloading freight, and maintaining accurate logs and safety records. Strong navigation, planning, and communication are essential for on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class A commercial driver’s license.
• Minimum two years of Class A driving experience to perform the job safely.
• Excellent navigation, time management, organizational, written and mathematical skills.
• Able to be away from home for extended periods, available for around the clock trips and remain alert.
• Able to work and drive for extended period of time up to 70 hours per week (14 hours within a 24-hour period).
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers.
• Ability to pass drug screens, background checks and a FMCSA physical examination.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift up to 75lbs and load/unload freight.

Responsibilities

• Transport cargo by long-distance driving up to 11 hours within a 24-hour period.
• May sit for long periods of time up to 14 hours per day.
• Arrive at destinations at scheduled times.
• Load and unload freight and record cargo delivery discrepancies.
• Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays.
• Follow all local, state and federal traffic laws and procedures.
• Use navigation apps to determine the best route for each destination.
• Interact professionally with co-workers, customers, vendors and the public.
• Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned and ready for use.
• Inspect vehicles and arrange for repairs as needed.
• Keep activity logs, log hours, mileage and repair records up-to-date.
