Overview

DSL Express is NOW HIRING OWNER OPERATORS who want to make good money with a great company. Very high percentage take home with load volume even in the worst market conditions – We keep it moving after almost 20 years in business. This notice includes updates and program details available to qualified applicants.

Important Update: 08/12/24. For a limited time only. We are offering the first 10 owners a one-time deal with 92% linehaul (92/8) and only $200 deduction for cargo and liability insurance. This rate will be locked in for the duration of time running under our authority. First come, first serve; 10 ASAP candidates needed. We carry A+ rated AM Best insurance and will run you under our DOT with a great safety score with scale bypasses. A 30 cent discount off cash price fuel is offered (usually an extra 5 to 10 cents), roughly 35 to 40 cents discount depending. This is intended to be the last place you want to work. We want motivated drivers who can consistently perform and stay with the company.

Job Description

• Must have Class A CDL. Additional Endorsements are a bonus.

• Must have a reliable tractor. We rent trailers if you don’t own one.

Responsibilities / Work Expectations

• OTR operations with the goal of high gross earnings and solid load volume.
• Conserve fuel by booking shorter runs and avoiding long hauls where possible.
• Manage weekly miles and prioritization of loads to optimize returns.
• Coordinate with dispatch to maintain moving loads and minimize downtime.

Regions

• Lower 48 with a primary focus on the Midwest, East, Southeast, South, Southwest, and West regions.
• Optional high-paying Canadian loads offered to qualified applicants. Some routes may change; ask about updates.

Gross Earnings

• Normally $260,000 to $364,000 per year gross.
• Solo operators: expect OTR average gross of $5,000 to $8,000+ per week in the current market; team drivers may earn more depending on market conditions.

Driver Requirements

• Must be healthy and willing to work in a demanding role.
• Must be at least 23 years old.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
• Must have a valid CDL Class A without pending suspensions.
• Must be able to work with modern ELD systems and pass a drug test.
• Must have a valid medical card and a stable work history with good references.
• No more than 3 moving violations/accidents in the last 3 years.
• No failed or refused drug or alcohol tests in the last 4 years.
• No DWI/DUI or BAC in the last 4 years; no reckless driving convictions in the last 3 years.
• No license suspension for points or unpaid tickets in the last 3 years.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last year.
• Provide at least 3 years of work history; verification of previous employers and references.
