Job summary

Darling Ingredients is hiring a Class A or B CDL Route Driver for our Seneca, KS plant. This entry-level driving role offers a stable position with a worldwide company and local runs with home daily.

The Route Driver is responsible for operating a truck to collect fabrication material from meat processors and grocery stores, with duties including inspections, DOT log maintenance, and strong customer relations.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B driver's license with tanker endorsement.
• Must be registered on the FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Collects and inspects products at time of pick up for any foreign material at customer location.
• Maintains an Electronic DOT log and operates vehicle per regulations.
• Conducts pre and post trip inspections and follows safety rules.
• Maintains excellent customer relations with professional service at all times.
• Completes all company paperwork daily as required.
• Attends safety meetings and may serve on Safety Committee.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Must be able to handle outside elements year round
• Collects and inspects products at time of pick up for any foreign material at customer location.
• Required to maintain an Electronic DOT log.
• Responsible and operates vehicle in accordance with Company, federal, state and local regulations.
• Conducts pre and post trip vehicle inspections; observes company policy, procedures and safety rules.
• Maintains excellent customer relations by providing quality, professional service at all times.
• Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies on a daily basis.
• Attendance at all safety meetings required; may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B driver's license.
• With tanker endorsement.
• Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior route experience within a customer oriented environment.
• Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Sitting for long periods of time.
• Ability to stay focused and concentrate on one thing for long periods of time.
• Occasionally lifts up to 75 lbs.
• Occasionally push, pull or move up to 250 lbs.
• Occasionally required to maneuver a fully loaded dolly.
• Occasionally required to load deadstock and/or bins with assistance from a wench on their vehicle.
• Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a commercial motor vehicle, customer locations, and plant environment.
