Compensation: $0.78/mi, increased to $0.81/mi after your first year.
Schedule: Shift Monday – Friday, Overnight.

Position Summary
Driving a tractor trailer long‑distance between terminal locations to pick up and drop off freight.
Essential Functions
- Drive a commercial vehicle safely while transporting freight between terminals.
- Load and unload trailer, either individually or with assistance from dockworkers. Freight handling equipment may be used where available and appropriate.
- Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight.
- Secure freight through strapping or other methods.
- Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
- Comply with all federal requirements regarding the transportation of hazardous materials.
- Drive tractor-trailer in all conditions in accordance with federal regulations, observing hours of service limitations and required off‑duty periods.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver logs.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum age of 23.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor‑trailer experience.
- Pass a road test administered by a Dohrn Transfer Driver Trainer.
- Possess, or obtain within the required time period, Hazardous Material and Tanker endorsements on a valid driver’s license issued by your resident state.
- Hold only one valid CDL issued by your resident state. If recently transferred, provide proof of the former license or verification from that state; provide license information for all licenses held within the previous 36 months.
- No record of a DUI/OWI or reckless driving conviction within the previous 5 years.
- Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and functional screen.
- Consent to a pre‑employment drug screen; a negative result is required.
- Provide a negative controlled‑substances and alcohol result from prior employer(s) for the past three‑year period.
- No instance of refusal to submit to an alcohol or controlled‑substance test within the past three years.
- Consent to a 10‑year work‑history check; gaps of 30 days or more must be listed and explained.
- Have the ability to read and write English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Employment is at‑will; no contract of employment is guaranteed.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Grip various sizes and weights up to 100 pounds.
- Lifting up to 100 pounds from ground level to 45”. Lifting at waist level or 36”.
- Front carry up to 100 pounds for 250 feet.
- Push/pull up to 60 pounds of horizontal force.
- Sit up to 10 hours per day.
- Stand and walk frequently.
- Climb, squat, crouch, balance, or kneel occasionally; crawl rarely.
- Reach frequently while shifting gears, loading/unloading freight, and operating the steering wheel.
- Grasp and handle freight frequently while opening/closing trailer doors and operating front jacks.
- Communicate with coworkers and customers as needed for safety.
- Use vision constantly while driving, reading maps, and inspecting the truck.
- Use smell occasionally to check for leaks.
- Use hearing frequently to listen for unusual sounds or warning signals.
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, wetness, dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals.
