Job summary

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Class A licensed driver to join our healthcare waste operations. The Driver Lead will establish and lead a team of drivers at our NEW Salt Lake City location, with strong focus on safety, customer service and on-time deliveries.

This full-time role offers consistent hours, potential overtime, and a benefits package from day one. Expect early start times (Mon-Fri, around 5am–3pm) and opportunities to advance within the organization.

Qualifications

• Class A license with a clean driving record and valid medical card.
• Hazmat endorsement or willingness to obtain required.
• Willingness to work full time hours, approx. 40 hours a week.
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours and roadside inspections.
• 3 years of driving experience with tractor trailers and/or straight trucks.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead a team of drivers in the NEW Salt Lake City location.
• Assist Transport Supervisor with daily operations and oversight of driving team.
• Train new drivers.
• Safely collect, deliver and store medical waste containers at customer locations.
• Provide strong customer service and build positive customer relationships.
• Operate vehicles safely (straight trucks and tractor trailers up to 53 feet).
• Complete deliveries to schedule and communicate changes clearly.
• Load and unload; prioritize and organize truck per schedule.
• Manage a route per leadership direction and deliver timely service.
• Comply with DOT regulations, log hours and conduct roadside inspections.
• Heavy lifting.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused driver with a Class A license and experience driving large trucks to utilize your experience across the Salt Lake City, UT area.

What will your job involve?

• Helping to establish and lead a team of drivers in our NEW Salt Lake City location!
• Assist Transport Supervisor with daily operations and oversight of driving team
• Train new drivers
• Safely collecting, delivering and storing our medical waste containers at customer locations
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
• Operating vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long)
• Completing deliveries to time schedule, and clearly communicating changes or challenges as they arise
• Loading and unloading | Prioritizing and organizing your truck per schedule and needs
• Managing a route per leaderships direction | delivering timely, efficient and effective service
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Heavy lifting!

What are we looking for?

• Class A license with a clean driving record and valid medical card
• Hazmat endorsement or willingness to obtain required
• Willingness to work full time hours, approx. 40 hours a week
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• 3 years of driving experience with tractor trailers and/or straight trucks
• Registered with DACH
• A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
• Proven longevity in past employment
• On time delivery practices!
