CORT Tradeshow and Events in Orlando, FL is hiring immediately for a Class A CDL driver. The role includes loading furniture, delivering to venues, and providing on-site customer service with potential overtime.

Expect weekend work, a pay rate of $28/hour depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities include pre/post trip inspections, on-site coordination, and supervising temporary staff to ensure safe, timely deliveries for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Class A CDL in resident state.
• 3+ months tractor-trailer driving experience; 1 year preferred.
• Physically able to move furniture indoors/outdoors and lift 100+ pounds with a partner.
• Comply with FMCSA regulations; read/speak English sufficiently.
• Maintain DOT Medical Evaluator Certificate and pass physical/drug screen.
• Pass FMCSA/CORT road test and meet safe driving standards.
• Acceptable MVR per CORT’s standards.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks safely, ensure correct loading order and protection of goods.
• Attend pre-delivery meetings and coordinate with operations team.
• Complete pre/post trip truck inspections and prep trucks for shifts.
• Maintain all required logs and records of duty using ELD.
• Drive tractor-trailers, box trucks, or sprinter vans on routes.
• Install/assemble furniture at venues per floor plans and client notes.
• Inspect furniture for damage, load/unload, and ensure no items are left behind.
• Provide onsite customer service and resolve client questions.
• Supervise temporary labor and ensure safety and client compliance.
• Perform warehouse duties as needed; organize inventory and clean equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Loading Trucks: Inspect furniture to ensure acceptable condition. Load truck safely to protect products from damage during transport. Ensure accurate loading order of items to meet delivery specifications.
• Operations Planning & Communication: Attend pre-delivery meetings to review logistics, timelines, and client expectations, contributing to smooth and successful event execution. Maintain regular communication with the operations team and/or district service representatives to report and/or resolve any issues and ensure efficient operations.
• Truck inspections: Complete Pre and post trip truck inspections. Clean and prep trucks for future shifts.
• Documentation and service logs: Complete all required written documentation. Effectively operate an electronic logging device and accurately maintain all records of duty as determined by FMCSA.
• Driving: Drive tractor-trailers, box trucks, or sprinter vans on delivery routes for company benefit in a safe and lawful manner.
• Deliveries: Install and assemble furniture at tradeshow or event venues based on floor plans or client instructions, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and aesthetic presentation. Clean, touch up, or perform repairs as needed. Use show site mobile app to ensure and document accurate delivery.
• Pick-ups: Inspect furniture for any customer-inflicted damage, load in trucks. Ensure no product is left behind at venues.
• Provide onsite customer service: Interact professionally with clients during deliveries and setups, addressing questions or concerns and ensuring a positive experience.
• Supervise temporary labor: Instruct temporary associates how and where to deliver, pickup, load, or unload products onsite. Ensure that work is being performed as per the clients’ requests and safely.
• Perform warehouse duties as needed: Manually load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, and docks. Put items away and organize within the warehouse. Unbox & clean products.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 21 years of age or older
• Valid and current Class A driver’s license in the state of residency
• A minimum of 3 months professional experience driving a tractor-trailer; 1 year of experience preferred
• Physically able and willing to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs and in all weather conditions; ability to lift 100+ pounds with a partner
• Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration regulations
  • Per FMSCA Regulations: Drivers must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
• Ability to maintain a valid DOT Medical Evaluator Certificate, which includes passing a physical and drug screening
• Ability to successfully pass a road test based on FMCSA/CORT requirements
• Acceptable MVR per CORT’s Safe Driving Standards
