Job summary

Butte Sand Trucking Co. is seeking experienced drivers to haul aggregates to plants and job sites. This full-time role offers medical, dental, and vision benefits, a 401(k) with match, paid time off, sick pay, and vacation after a qualifying waiting period.

We provide well maintained equipment and a great work environment. Duties include daily pre-trip inspections, loading and transporting material, tarp when needed, keeping a clean truck, and reporting maintenance.

Qualifications

• Valid California Commercial Class A license with doubles endorsement.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
• Excellent driving record (DMV printout required).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and nights.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Butte Sand Trucking Co. is hiring experienced drivers to haul aggregates to different plants and/or work sites. Duties

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Load material at asphalt or aggregate plant and safely transport to other plants and/or job sites
• Tarp load when needed to protect product being hauled
• Job requires cleaning and washing of vehicle to include the spraying down of trailers when needed in designated areas
• Maintains a clean truck and practices good housekeeping on all equipment and in the plant
• Reports any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required
• Must be able to work flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary
• Must be able to travel to various work locations based on work availability and customer demand
• Overtime, weekend work and nights may be required
• Will work out of state at times
• Can be exposed to extremes of hot and cold weather
• Must be able to work cooperatively with others

Requirements

Physical requirements

• Perform occasional lifting, pulling, and pushing.
• Hook and unhook trailers from tractor.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time of up to 11 hours while remaining alert
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, bad weather, or in tight areas.
• Must be able to enter and exit the vehicle throughout the day. May also require occasional bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching, and balancing.
• Must be able to shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals.
• Must be able to occasionally reach above shoulder level, at waist level, and below waist level for maneuvering and directing the controls to operate the truck.
• Must be able to hook/unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, manually raise and lower hood, manually lower and raise landing gear, operate the fifth wheel release lever, attach and release safety chains, open and close cargo doors.
