Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines in Ohio is seeking an experienced Transportation/Linehaul Driver. You will transport freight between service centers, perform pre/post inspections, load/unload, and maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment.

We offer a mileage-based pay starting at $0.84 per mile with an average weekly earnings around $2,300, comprehensive benefits, paid holidays and vacation, and a strong emphasis on work-life balance and a positive culture.

Qualifications

• At least 23 years of age.
• At least 2 years of commercial driving experience.
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement.
• Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card.
• No DUI or reckless operation convictions in past 3 years.
• Less than 2 moving violations in past 3 years.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Fluent in English and legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Transport, load and unload freight between service centers.
• Perform pre and post trip inspections on tractor/trailer.
• Affix placards when necessary and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Interact with internal customers and operate forklift when needed.
• Be available for irregular schedules and extended trips.
• Adhere to procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

Transportation Drivers are responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers.

• Perform pre and post trip inspections on tractor/trailer
• Affix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle
• Interact and converse with internal customers
• Safely operate a forklift to unload/ load products when indicated and needed
• Be available for irregular work schedules, extended trips away from domiciled Service Center, alternating work shifts and/or assignments
• Adhere to the operational procedures and guidelines

Qualifications

Physical Demands

The position requires the ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle and perform routine physical tasks associated with driving and equipment inspections.
