Job summary

Watkins Express Freight is seeking a Class A CDL regional driver to efficiently handle designated routes with an emphasis on safety and reliability. You will operate tractor-trailers, plan routes, and maintain logs in a fast-paced, independent environment.

With 95% no-touch, mostly drop-and-hook freight, expect mileage pay, monthly performance pay, and a sign-on bonus paid over six months. Company benefits include orientation, PTO, and comprehensive insurance options.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• At least 2 years of Class A driving experience.
• No more than two moving violations in 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles across regional routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards.
• Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery times while minimizing fuel consumption and vehicle wear.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered on the road.

Pay and bonus potential:
