Job summary

ASB Freight Co. is hiring Class A CDL drivers for OTR opportunities with steady freight and 100% no-touch loads. The program includes options for solo driving or mentoring newer drivers, plus a training path for recent CDL graduates.

Experience levels are accommodated: solo drivers, mentors, and new drivers joining a structured on‑the‑road training path. Home time typically every 7–10 days with weekly pay and year‑round freight availability.

Qualifications

• Have a valid Class A CDL.
• At least 3 months of recent, verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
• Reside within 90 miles of Duncan, SC.
• Be at least 21 years old and meet DOT requirements.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Coach and guide students during training and on-road time.
• Maintain emphasis on safe, compliant driving and job performance.
• Rotate between observation and hands-on driving during the training period.
• Support trainees to transition into solo driving roles.

OTR SOLO DRIVING OPPORTUNITY

Our OTR fleet offers consistent freight and miles with 100% no-touch loads , allowing drivers to focus on driving instead of unloading.

Experienced drivers can expect:

• $0.50–$0.60 CPM , based on experience + safety & performance bonuses
• Home every 7-10 days
• Consistent OTR miles

For drivers ready to do more than run solo, becoming a Driver Mentor offers an opportunity to earn additional mileage pay while helping newly licensed drivers gain real-world OTR experience.

You'll work directly with one student driver at a time during their required training period.

How Mentor Training Works

A typical assignment is approximately 11 days on the road.

The first day is dedicated to observation. During the following 10 qualifying training days, the student gains hands‑on driving experience under your guidance.

Between trainees, mentors may have the option to take home time or return to running solo.

How Mentor Pay Works

Mentors keep their regular experience-based rate and can earn additional compensation while training:

Base Rate: $0.50–$0.60 CPM
Mentor Pay: +$0.10 CPM
Productivity Pay: Up to +$0.10 CPM

That means qualified mentors can potentially earn up to $0.80 CPM , depending on experience and applicable productivity pay.

• Priority miles during training assignments
• Additional bonus opportunities
• Structured online training checklists
• Weekly pay

STARTING YOUR CDL CAREER?

Recent Class A CDL graduates are welcome to apply.

Instead of requiring you to already have months of experience, our new‑driver program gives qualified graduates an opportunity to build that experience with an established mentor.

New drivers receive hands‑on OTR training before moving toward a solo position.

Starting Pay: $0.35 CPM

The $0.35 CPM rate applies during training and while completing your first 3 months of experience.

After reaching 3 months of qualifying experience, eligible drivers can transition to the experienced solo pay scale, currently **$0.50CPM.

EXPERIENCED DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for an experienced solo or mentor opportunity, drivers must:

• Have a valid Class A CDL
• Have at least 3 months of recent, verifiable tractor‑trailer experience
• Reside within 90 miles of Duncan, SC
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Meet all applicable DOT requirements
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States

The 3-month experience requirement does not apply to qualified recent CDL graduates entering through the training program.
