Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Class A CDL truck driver in Florida to perform safe, on-time deliveries across the region. You will operate a 53’ dry van, complete all required documents, and adhere to FMCSA standards while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of verifiable CMV experience, pass a DOT physical and drug test, and can communicate clearly with Dispatch. We offer full-time hours with a strong safety record and an emphasis on compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor-trailer equipment in various configurations and weights as allowed by law.

  • Communicate with Dispatch/Operations about stops, movements, and issues.

Job description

Regional Positions…. Safe operation of a TADC with a 53’ dry van. New equipment, state of the art technology, 80% drop and hook.

  • Safe effective, and efficient delivery of goods
  • Safely operate a TAS with 53’ dry van.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with Corrugated Logistics policies and procedures, and Complies with all federal, state, and local regulations for the secure and safe Operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).
  • An offered load cannot be refused.
  • Conducts a thorough pre-trip inspection of the equipment assigned as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the company.
  • Inspect tractor and trailer for defects during and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the tractor and trailer at the end of each trip.
  • Safely operates tractor trailer equipment in different configurations as assigned, with varying weights as allowed by law, under all types of climatic conditions, terrain, road conditions and traffic situations, in urban and rural settings, for extended periods of time, over long distances, either direct or by way of other intermediate points in accordance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as Corrugated Logistics policy.
  • Drop, hook, spot, switch and otherwise interchange equipment, including the hooking and unhooking trailers from the tractor itself and the pushing, pulling, placing, lifting and attaching or detaching of various types of converter gear when necessary. Also includes the raising and lowering of the landing gear on semi-trailers.
  • Ensures that all required shipping documentation accompanies all deliveries.
  • Properly secures or re-secures the cargo as required.
  • Frequently communicates with Dispatch/Operations, in person or by way of PeopleNet, or phone, in order to advise of stops, movements, problems with equipment, cargo, delays, etc.
  • Reports all accidents or incidents involving driver of company equipment. Be able to provide initial contact with public safety or law enforcement officials and the general public when involved in traffic accidents or incidents.
  • Report any moving violations received in both CMV or personal vehicle.
  • Properly maintains a driver’s log electronically in accordance with FMCSA and Corrugated Logistics requirements. Remains knowledgeable of own hours of service at all times and reports discrepancies or potential violations to Corrugated Logistics Operations immediately.
  • Properly and efficiently complete all necessary paperwork including inspection reports, manifests, bills of ladings, trip pay reports, trip fuel and mileage reports, accident reports and any other report or record required by law, regulation or Corrugated Logistics policy.
  • Verifies all shipping documentation against the load information provided by dispatch. Note in writing any overages, shortages or damage and seal intact when arriving at delivery.
  • Performs roadside inspections as required by the law, various administrative agency regulations and Corrugated Logistics policy.
  • Works in adverse weather conditions without temperature or other environmental controls and subject to ambient weather conditions.
  • Performs work required in a timely manner and maintains adequate production in order to meet service schedules.
  • Communicates in a professional manner with persons whom the driver is in contact with as a company representative.

Corrugated Logistics assesses driver applicants on standards for performance, stability, dependability, and honesty. Regardless of experience level, all candidates must meet the following requirements:

Minimum Qualifications
  • A valid Class A CDL without airbrake restrictions from the state that you declare to be your point of permanent domicile
  • Three (3) years of verifiable experience operating a CMV – 12 months or 150,000 miles
  • Read, write, speak, and clearly understand the English language
  • DOT applications must be complete and accurate and should:
  • Include (7) year MVR with application
  • Reflect all periods of employment, unemployment, self employment, and education for the past 10 years. All activities in the last three (3) years must be verifiable
  • Must meet or exceed the medical standard of DOT, including passing a physical exam and drug test administered by a company approved facility
  • Possess a valid Social Security Card
  • No reckless driving violations in the last ten (10) years
  • No suspension of license in the last ten (10) years
  • No moving violations in the last three (3) years – No more than one (1) moving violation in the last five (5) years – No at fault accidents within the last five (5) years – No more than two (2) moving or non-moving violations in a five (5) year period. – 1 -3 years no more than one (1) moving violation. 2 -5 years no more than 2 moving violations
  • No failed or refused drug or alcohol test
  • No felony convictions within the last ten (10) years from the time restitution was completed. Convictions older than ten (10) years will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • No controlled substance events – No crimes against another person of ANY type
  • Misdemeanors will be considered on a case by case basis
  • No DWI, DUI, BAC, or Open Container convictions in the last ten (10) years
  • Present a clean and professional appearance
  • Successful completion of Corrugated Logistics road test
