Job summary

Norfolk Iron & Metal in Norfolk, NE is seeking a Day Driver to safely operate our tractor/trailer fleet and deliver product as dispatched in the most efficient manner. You will also perform required DOT pre- and post-trip inspections and DVIRs, assist with loading/unloading steel and other supplies, and provide professional customer service.

Required is a Class A CDL with a current medical card and the ability to meet NIM and DOT qualifications.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL required with current medical card and compliance with NIM and DOT qualifications.
• Safety—must follow safety guidelines and be able to meet physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the company’s tractor/trailer fleet.
• Distribute product as dispatched in the most efficient manner.
• Perform DOT pre- and post-trip inspections and DVIRs.

Job Description:

• Safe operation of the company’s tractor/trailer fleet
• Distribute product as dispatched in most efficient manner
• Perform the required DOT pre and post trip truck and trailer inspections
• Complete DVIR for pre and post trips and driving
• Assist in loading and unloading of steel and other supplies
• Provide customer service in professional manner

• Class A CDL Required — Must also have current medical card and meet all NIM and DOT employment qualifications
• Safety — Must be able to follow all safety guidelines
• Physical Demand — Able to meet the requirements necessary to perform the job
