Job summary

AZZ Inc. has a 1st shift opportunity for a Class A CDL Driver at our Minneapolis facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will help deliver steel products safely and on time while maintaining strong customer relationships. This role covers daily routes only, with no OTR driving.

The position requires driving a tractor-trailer, inspecting vehicles, loading/unloading, and maintaining accurate delivery records. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required with no suspension.
• Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience.
• Flatbed trailer experience preferred.
• Experience hauling steel or industrial machinery preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer to deliver goods to designated locations.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle and equipment.
• Follow traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Load and unload trucks and verify cargo against documents.
• Keep records of miles, cargo, and deliveries.

Job Description

AZZ has an exciting 1st shift opportunity for a Class A CDL Driver at our Minneapolis facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager you will help deliver our steel products safely and on time, while maintaining great customer relationships. This is for daily routes (no OTR) only.

Duties And Responsibilities

• May drive a tractor-trailer truck combination to transport and deliver goods to and from designated locations.
• Inspects and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure that vehicle is in proper working condition.
• Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Loads and unloads trucks, vans and/or automobiles.
• Reports any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Presents bills and receipts and collects payments for goods delivered or loaded.
• Verifies the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Turns in receipts and money received from deliveries.
• Maintains records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo or billing statements in accordance with regulations.
• Reads maps and follows written and verbal geographic directions.

Qualifications

• A CDL - Class A license under no type of suspension is required
• 1+ years of commercial driving experience is required
• Experience operating a flatbed trailer truck is preferred
• Experience hauling steel or industrial machinery is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Minimum Education

• High School diploma or equivalent is required
