Job summary

DSG is hiring a CDL Class A Delivery Driver in Ames, IA. This full-time, hourly position runs typically from 7 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, delivering products to customers and jobsites with loading/unloading, securing, and transport responsibilities.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL with a current medical card and involves warehouse tasks when not on deliveries. DSG emphasizes ESOP, training, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with current medical card (required).
• Basic product and warehouse/delivery knowledge normally acquired in one to three years of applicable experience.
• Safety training on material handling and forklift driving.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull or move items weighing 70-325 lbs. with assistance.
• Prior computer knowledge, experience, and skills.

Responsibilities

• Load delivery truck safely according to company policy.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff on product loading per instructions.
• Inspect truck and trailer to ensure safe operation per policy and DOT standards.
• Report vehicle safety or maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Communicate delivery dates and times to customers.
• Deliver to customer locations within roughly 150 miles of the branch.
• Assist in warehouse operations when not delivering (pull orders, pack, label, locate items).
• Operate forklift and use RF scanner to track inventory and status.
