Job summary

Imler is seeking a Class A or Class B Delivery Driver to safely and efficiently deliver refrigerated and frozen foods across Pennsylvania and neighboring states. You will operate company equipment, manage on-time routes, unload at customer sites, and provide professional service.

Drivers must meet CDL requirements, follow DOT/FMCSA rules, perform pre/post-trip inspections, handle paperwork, and maintain product temperatures while delivering to multiple stops.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an active Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Ability to meet all applicable DOT/FMCSA requirements.
  • Experience with pre-trip and post-trip inspections and safe vehicle operation.
  • Experience delivering refrigerated and frozen food products is a plus.

Responsibilities

Description

The Class A / Class B Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of refrigerated and frozen food products to customers throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Drivers operate company commercial vehicles, complete assigned delivery routes, unload products at customer locations, and provide professional customer service.

Class A drivers primarily operate refrigerated (reefer) tractor-trailers, while Class B drivers operate applicable straight trucks and other commercial delivery vehicles. Routes may include multiple customer stops and interstate travel; however, drivers return home at the completion of their daily route with the exception of a few dedicated overnight routes and occasional overnight layovers due to breakdowns, etc.

Requirements
Essential Functions
  • Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers, Class B straight trucks, and other assigned commercial vehicles.
  • Deliver refrigerated, frozen, and other food products to customers on assigned routes.
  • Complete deliveries throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states.
  • Load, unload, and properly handle customer orders at each delivery location.
  • Use hand trucks, pallet jacks, lift gates, ramps, and other delivery equipment as required.
  • Verify products and quantities against invoices and delivery paperwork.
  • Maintain proper refrigerated and frozen product temperatures throughout the route.
  • Monitor reefer equipment and immediately report temperature or equipment concerns.
  • Obtain required customer signatures and accurately complete delivery documentation.
  • Collect payments from customers when required and properly account for all money received.
  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain accurate DOT logs and other required driver documentation.
  • Follow assigned routes and communicate delays, delivery issues, or customer concerns to Dispatch.
  • Maintain professional and courteous relationships with customers.
  • Follow all DOT, FMCSA, company safety, food safety, and transportation requirements.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, injuries, product damage, or other safety concerns immediately.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements

Drivers must be able to:

  • Frequently enter and exit commercial vehicles throughout the workday.
  • Sit and drive for extended periods.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and carry products.
  • Safely move products using a hand truck, pallet jack, ramp, or lift gate.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 90 pounds, with heavier products moved using appropriate equipment or assistance.
  • Work in refrigerated, freezer, outdoor, and changing weather conditions.
  • Safely navigate stairs, ramps, loading docks, customer facilities, and uneven surfaces.
Qualifications
Class A Driver
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Ability to safely operate refrigerated tractor-trailer equipment.
  • Ability to meet all applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical certification.
Class B Driver
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Ability to safely operate commercial straight trucks and assigned delivery vehicles.
  • Ability to meet all applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical certification.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be dependable and able to report to work at scheduled route times.
  • Must be comfortable making multiple customer stops throughout the day.
  • Must provide professional customer service at all delivery locations.
  • Must follow company food safety, sanitation, and product-handling procedures.
  • Previous food service, delivery, or commercial driving experience is preferred.
Work Environment

This position involves driving and making deliveries in a variety of environments and weather conditions. Drivers regularly work around refrigerated and frozen products, loading docks, customer facilities, vehicle traffic, and material-handling equipment.

Routes may require travel throughout multiple states; however, drivers are home every night, with the exception of a few dedicated overnight routes and occasional overnight layovers due to breakdowns, etc.
