Job description

Kaytee (Central Garden & Pet) is currently looking to fill 1 st shift Fiesta Mixer at Kaytee in Chilton, WI. You will be responsible for setting up and running machines, palletizers, and scales. This position works four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday; enjoy a long weekend every week! At Kaytee, you have the opportunity to work with products for birds, hamsters, rabbits and other small animals.

Responsibilities

• Accurately mix ingredients according to specific formulas and deliver these mixes to the proper packaging bins.
• Ensure accurate mixing, both visually and through quality assurance checks.
• Schedule and plan mixing operation to meet production schedule.
• Maintain communication between Line Leaders, Mill Operators, and Shift Supervisor.
• Record all inventory transactions by accurately completing RF scanner functions and paperwork.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Understand and know the goals and objectives of the department.
• Comply with all safety rules and company policies.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Responsible for reporting any Food Safety issues to authorized personnel for correction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 50+ pounds with frequent bending, lifting and twisting.
• Must have proficient math skills.
• Ability to operate forklift and handcart in a safe manner.
• Ability to work independently in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Ability to operate RF scanner device.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally (with assistance).
• Must have the ability to bend, twist, turn and climb.
• Possess solid organizational skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• Work temperatures can vary due to outside temperatures.
• Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours (on each respective shift) and average at least 40 hours a week.
• There may be some variation in work hours due to overtime, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns.
