Job summary

Ravinia Festival Association seeks a Woodwind Instructor (Clarinet) to lead woodwind studio and section rehearsals for elementary and middle school students in the Sistema Ravinia program at Catalyst Circle Rock, 5608 W Washington Blvd, Chicago. The role reports to the Program Manager and collaborates with a team dedicated to music education and community impact.

This position offers compensation at $50/hour for instruction time and $25/hour for non-instruction time, with a focus on mentorship,

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of beginning to intermediate woodwind pedagogy.
• Ability to build a supportive, high-expectation rehearsal culture.
• Ability to mentor students and model positive behavior.

Responsibilities

• Lead woodwind studio and section rehearsals for grades 4–8.
• Teach repertoire and build technical facility per curriculum direction.
• Participate in meetings and parent/student conferences as needed.
• Assess student progress regularly.
• Supervise on-site activities and transitions.
• Collaborate with West Side administration to track attendance and supports.
