Job summary

Pratt Internal is seeking a Clamp Truck Operator to safely move paper rolls and support corrugator operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The role involves loading/unloading rolls, inspecting equipment, and maintaining records and cleanliness on-site.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and prior experience with industrial power trucks. Reading tape measures, following instructions, and adhering to safety standards are essential for success in this position.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the clamp truck.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Take rolls of paper to the corrugator, and record all rolls taken to the corrugator on the proper forms.
• Learn to read corrugator lineups.
• Unload rolls from trailers and/or rail cars. Check for and note any physical damage to the rolls.
• Operate the clamp truck in a safe manner.
• Complete clamp truck inspection report at the beginning of each shift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Keep warehouse organized and clean.
• Turn in roll stock tallies to the corrugator supervisor or Scheduling Department.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery and service goals.
• Assist the corrugator operator as instructed by supervision.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED.

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

Prior industrial power truck or heavy equipment operating experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

A current Lift Truck/Clamp Truck Operator License is required.
