Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. is seeking a Clamp Truck and Digital Machine Operator for 1st shift in Conyers, GA. You will safely operate the clamp truck and assist in the roll-to-roll digital printing process, ensuring rolls are loaded, recorded, and inspected for quality and yield.

The role requires basic math, reading lineups, and following MSDS guidelines. You will help maintain a clean warehouse, follow production schedules, and adhere to all safety policies to support efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
  • Prefer 6 months experience in manufacturing operation.
  • Experience in packaging industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the clamp truck and assist the digital printing machine.
  • Record rolls and document rolls; read lineups and mark rolls for size/damage.
  • Unload rolls from trailers; check for damage and log notes; scan rolls to location.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and turn in roll stock tallies.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and complete shift inspection reports.

Job Description
SUMMARY

Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the clamp truck as well as assisting in the operation of the roll to roll digital printing machine.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take rolls of paper to the digital printer and record all rolls on the proper forms.
  • Learn to read lineups.
  • Mark buttrolls as to the size, diameter, lineal footage, and grade before returning to stock.
  • Unload rolls from trailers, check, and note any physical damage to the rolls.
  • Scan rolls to location.
  • Use Mill wide for consumption and roll stock receipts.
  • Operate the clamp truck in a safe manner.
  • Complete clamp truck inspection report at the beginning of each shift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
  • Keep the warehouse organized and clean.
  • Turn in roll stock tallies to the Supervisor or Scheduling Department.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
  • Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery and service goals.
  • Assist the operator as instructed by supervision.
  • Read related MSDS and learn proper response for emergency chemical spills or skin contact.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum high school diploma or GED required

Candidates are preferred who offer the following:

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior work experience in the packaging industry.
  • 6 months experience in some type of manufacturing operation
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read, write and speak in English and follow instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Product layouts and production specifications
  • Product quality specifications
  • Quality standards
