Job summary

EMCOR Group is seeking a claims and safety professional to manage workers’ compensation and auto liability claims from start to finish. You will ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate with HR, medical providers, and leadership, and support a safe work environment with strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities include incident investigations, documentation, return‑to‑work support, cost tracking, training, and litigation support. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
  • 3+ years of Workers’ Compensation claims administration and workplace safety support.
  • Familiarity with OSHA reporting and safety compliance standards preferred.
  • Experience working with internal administrators, third-party administrators, and insurance carriers.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask and manage a caseload with deadlines.
  • Travel availability of up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and manage WC claims from start to finish, including reporting, investigation, and closure.
  • Investigate incidents, gather information, and determine claim validity.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal WC laws and policies.
  • Facilitate discussions with employees, supervisors, HR Benefits, medical providers, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of all claims and communications.
  • Support return-to-work programs and light-duty assignments.
  • Track WC costs including medical expenses and wages lost.
  • Provide training on WC procedures and regulations.
  • Support root cause analysis meetings with managers and supervisors.
  • Prepare claim docs for settlement and obtain risk manager approval.
  • Generate monthly/quarterly WC data to identify trends and improvements.
  • Support WC-related litigation with documentation and counsel.
  • Assist with Auto and GL claims management and analysis.
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and coordinate with legal for resolution.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and develop safety/trends dashboards.
  • Contribute to quarterly claim reviews and subrogation efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Safety Director.

Job Summary

This position manages workers’ compensation and auto liability claims, supporting safety initiatives and insurance claims activities. It will actively manage the workers’ compensation claims process from start to end, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, collaborate with internal business partners on our injured workers’ health and claims status, and support the Management Team, HR, and safety with insurance claims. This position will help promote a safe and healthy work environment. To be in this role, one needs strong communication, empathy, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Receive, review, and manage workers’ comp (WC) claims from start to finish, including initial reporting, investigation, and closure.
  • Investigate incidents, gather information, and determine the validity of claims.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal WC laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Facilitate discussions and communication with employees, supervisors, HR Benefits, medical providers, and other stakeholders involved in the WC process.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claims, including documentation, correspondence, and any relevant information.
  • Assist and support the return-to-work program and light-duty assignments for injured employees.
  • Track and manage the cost of WC claims, including medical expenses and lost wages.
  • Provide training and education to employees and supervisors on WC procedures and regulations.
  • Support the root cause analysis meetings with managers/supervisors.
  • Prepare claim documentation for settlement and obtain EMCOR Risk Manager approval.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly WC data to identify trends and areas for safety and risk management improvement.
  • Provide support for WC-related litigation, including preparing documentation and working with legal counsel.
  • Support EMCOR Risk Manager with Auto and GL claims management, reporting, and analysis.
  • Determine and validate if claims fall under subrogation. Identify legal liability and pursue, negotiate and settle subrogation collection. Collaborate with legal to resolve.
  • Support and participate in all safety initiatives, including inspections, training, recordkeeping, and reporting.
  • Develop dashboards and metrics to track safety performance and claims trends.
  • Participate in quarterly claim reviews and subrogation efforts as needed.
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned by the Senior Safety Director.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
  • Ability to travel, some possible travel, <10% of the time.
