Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC seeks a Billing Specialist to maintain billing and coding guidelines, review claim edits, and submit claims within 48–72 hours of creation. You will coordinate rebill requests with Compliance, collections, audit, customer service, HIM, and vendors.

As a liaison between Revenue Cycle areas and the billing agency, you will help resolve problematic edits while delivering compassionate support to patients and callers with billing questions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of medical insurance billing experience required.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) if applicable, must be obtained within 30 days.
• Preferred CCS certification in Billing and Coding (AHIMA).

Responsibilities

• Review and resolve claim edits in the billing scrubber for government and non-government payers.
• Submit claims within 48–72 hours of creation date.
• Coordinate rebill requests with Compliance, collections, audit, customer service, HIM, and vendors.
• Serve as liaison between Revenue Cycle areas and the billing agency to resolve edits.
• Provide compassionate, professional service to patients and callers on billing questions.
