Job summary

Sentry is hiring an Entry Level Claims Representative in Davenport, IA. You will learn auto claims basics, review policy details, and assist customers with empathy as you grow into a claims expert. This role follows a hybrid model, with in-office collaboration Tue–Thu and optional remote Mon and Fri.

You’ll verify coverage, gather evidence, and develop investigative skills while documenting decisions and maintaining licensing requirements. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Previous insurance related and/or customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to professionally communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to exercise effective time management skills.
• Shows technological aptitude.
• Associates must have the ability to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Verify coverage, compensability, and reasonable payments by reviewing policy and accident details.
• Develop investigative claims skills by reviewing statements, police reports, and evidence.
• Evaluate claims exposure and establish timely reserves.
• Document decisions, correspondence, and discussions for life-cycle traceability.
• Support customers with empathy and explain the claims process and status.
• Obtain and maintain state licensing as required.
