Responsibilities

• Investigate coverage, liability and damages for auto liability claims.
• Evaluate, negotiate and settle claims within authority; seek higher authority when needed.
• Obtain adjuster licenses within 180 days.
• Manage claims from assignment to conclusion with early resolution plans.
• Handle property damage files including total loss vehicles.
• Coordinate with defense attorneys for cost-efficient litigation plans.
• Provide a positive customer service experience and maintain diaries.
• Prepare large loss reports as needed.
• Maintain adjuster licenses via CE courses.

Responsibilities

The auto liability claims department is looking for an experienced Auto Liability Claims Examiner individual contributor to handle moderate complexity auto claims in a fast paced energetic environment within our organization. This position requires an understanding and knowledge of litigation management in multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will routinely handle claims involving liability/coverage issues, and litigated matters including some reserved in excess of $250,000.

This position is a hybrid inoffice position preferrably in Jersey City, NJ but could also be based in our offices in Philadelphia, PA; Chicago, IL, Boston, MA or Irving, TX.

• Conduct the necessary investigation to determine coverage, liability and damages.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and settle assigned property damage or bodily injury claims within authority granted, or seek authority for those claims in excess of authority.
• Obtain all required adjuster licenses within 180 days
• Handle claims from assignment to conclusion, develop action plans to manage case for early resolution.
• Handle property damage aspect of files from beginning to conclusion, including total loss vehicles.
• P rovide direction and guidance to defense attorneys to develop an effective and cost-efficient litigation plan.
• Provide a positive customer service experience
• Maintain a current diary on outstanding claims
• Prepare large loss reports as needed
• Meet or exceed objectives for reserving standards, quality audits, closing ratio, expense controls, Medicare compliance
• Maintain all adjuster licenses by attending CE courses as required
• Perform other duties assigned

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree with a concentration in business, law, public administration or insurance preferred.
• Advanced industry designations such as AIC, CCP, or CPCU preferred.
• 5+ years of experience handling claims in Commercial Lines. The individual must be able to identify and address coverage issues and complete an investigation to determine liability/exposure.
• 2+ years of experience handling litigated injury claims.li>
• Ability to work independently and handle cases with moderate supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as having the ability to present complex matters to upper management as needed.
• Self-motivated and results oriented.Capable of working with internal and external teams and partners.

• Base Salary Range: $85,000-$115,000
